The Dye Sub Minilab DKS 920 is being showcased this September at Photokina - one of two DKS models in the thermal minilab range that were launched in 2008 from the professional photographic experts, KIS Photo-Me. The DKS 920 offers advanced creative functions and an extremely efficient operation. This is also the ‘affordable’ and environmentally-friendly dye-sublimation minilab which eliminates chemical effluents - offering an opportunity for retailers to go green whilst improving margins the “socially responsible” way.
With the advanced creative software, the DKS 920 allows retailers to offer choice as well as tailor-made products to their customers. The range includes the ‘Automatic Album’, the ‘Mosaic’ and ‘Collage Prints’ and the ‘Jumbo Index’. The DKS 920 also offers a preview of the product before printing, ensuring an accurate and high-quality finished product.
New features have made the DKS 920 minilab extremely efficient by simplifying and quickening the production process whilst cutting down labour. The design of the lab allows for very fast operator training and includes a new interface which has been added for print sorter management. Together with minimal maintenance, labour requirements are greatly reduced. With a perfect printing consistency, at all production volumes, KIS Photo-Me has ensured the minilab’s development without compromising on quality.
The combination of the DKS 920 minilab being a low-cost product that produces high margins is good news for retailers’ return on investment. It is one of the many value-adding products that have been developed by KIS Photo-Me, that are proven to produce more revenue with a high gross margin. The acquisition, operational and maintenance costs also make the DKS 920 a particularly affordable solution.
The DKS 16 & 17 minilab range has also benefited from development, with new creative functions on the V4.7 software. This software allows previewing of the creative products whilst the scanning, printing and archive access has been accelerated and a new value-adding function is due to be introduced soon.
